PRYDE is working closely with the NYS 4-H Youth Development Program, which serves hundreds of thousands of children and teenagers throughout New York State. Because of the unique nature of the New York population, New York State 4-H includes an extensive and vigorous focus on urban youth, as well as on rural and small-town populations.

The New York State 4-H Youth Development Program is located in Cornell’s Bronfenbrenner Center for Translational Research (BCTR), and serves as the youth component of Cornell Cooperative Extension. Locating New York State 4-H within the BCTR aligns the program with the most up-to-date and vigorously-applied translational research methods. New York State 4-H programs and materials are developed by campus-based experts who provide continuing support to 4-H professional staff and volunteers. The ultimate aim is to create a world-class translational research program on positive youth development within the BCTR.
